1ounceIrish cream liqueurFive Farms, Kahlua, Tia Maria, or similar)
3coffee beansto garnish
Instructions
Brew the espresso and let it cool. You can add it to a bowl and put it in the freezer to cool quicker.
Add ice to a cocktail shaker then add the cooled coffee, Irish cream liqueur, half and half and vodka.
Shake very hard so the foam is formed then strain it into a martini glass. You can chill your glasses ahead of time. Top with coffee beans, serve and enjoy immediately.
Notes
Cool the espresso completely. Let the coffee cool before adding it to your shaker so it doesn’t melt the ice and dilute the drink. You can speed this up by placing the espresso in the freezer for a few minutes.
Use fresh espresso. Freshly brewed espresso creates the boldest flavor and gives you the best chance of a creamy foam on top.
Shake it hard. A vigorous shake is what creates the signature foam. Don’t hold back - shake until the shaker feels ice cold.
Chill your glass. Pop your martini glass in the freezer for 10–15 minutes before pouring for the perfect crisp sip.
Pour swiftly. Strain the cocktail quickly to keep that creamy foam layer intact. A slow pour can make the foam fall flat.
