This Honey Lime Fruit Salad is the kind of recipe we make all year long with fruits that are in season. Fresh fruit is tossed in a lightly sweet honey lime dressing with mint for a refreshing side dish that works for brunch, BBQs, or dessert.

Why This Recipe Works

This Honey Lime Fruit Salad is bright, refreshing, and the perfect balance of sweet and citrusy, making it ideal for summer gatherings, brunches, or easy healthy desserts. Here’s why I love it:

  • Fresh, Vibrant Flavor: Juicy fruit paired with honey and fresh lime juice creates a light, refreshing flavor that tastes clean and not overly sweet.  It’s the same flavor combo that makes this Watermelon Salad Recipe with Honey Lime Dressing so refreshing.
  • Quick and No-Cook: This fruit salad comes together in just 15 minutes with no cooking required. It’s the kind of easy recipe you can throw together last minute and still feel good about serving like this Melon Salad.
  • Perfect for Any Occasion: Honey lime fruit salad works just as well for weekday snacking as it does for holidays, potlucks, or backyard barbecues. It’s always a crowd-pleaser.
  • Naturally Sweet and Healthy: Made with fresh fruit, honey, and herbs, this is a naturally sweet side dish or dessert that feels light and nourishing.
  • Easy to Customize: You can swap in seasonal fruit, add fresh herbs like basil or mint, or sprinkle in nuts or coconut for texture. It’s a flexible recipe that works year-round.

Ingredients

  • Strawberries, Blueberries, and Grapes – These berries add a mix of sweetness, juiciness, and a pop of color. Halving the grapes and strawberries makes them easy to eat and evenly blend into the salad.
  • Kiwis, Mango, and Orange – Tropical and citrus fruits bring brightness and variety in texture. The kiwi adds tang, mango brings sweetness, and the orange offers a juicy, refreshing bite.
  • Mint Leaves – Finely chopped mint adds a cool, herbal freshness that lifts all the fruity flavors and makes the salad feel extra vibrant.
  • Honey – Naturally sweet and smooth, honey binds the dressing together and enhances the fruit without overpowering it.
  • Fresh Lime Juice and Zest – Lime brings zesty acidity and balances the sweetness. The zest adds extra citrus aroma and flavor for a refreshing finish.

Substitutions & Variations

Here are some of my favorite substitutions and variations:

  • Fruit Swaps: I usually use strawberries, grapes, mango, and kiwi, but you can easily swap in pineapple, watermelon, cantaloupe, or peaches depending on what’s in season.
  • Add Nuts: For added texture, sprinkle toasted coconut flakes, slivered almonds, or chopped pistachios over the salad just before serving.
  • Citrus Options: Lime juice adds brightness, but you can also use lemon or orange juice for a slightly different flavor. A splash of orange juice makes the dressing a little sweeter and more mild.

What to Serve with Honey Lime Fruit Salad

Main Dishes

  • This Honey Lime Fruit Salad makes a bright, refreshing side for seafood and light mains. We love serving it with Citrus Grilled Shrimp and Avocado Salad for a fresh, summery meal.
  • It also pairs beautifully with Crispy Skin Salmon with Veggies and Noodles or alongside Mediterranean Chopped Salad with Herb Vinaigrette for a colorful, balanced spread.

Other Sides

  • For a light and crisp combination, try this fruit salad next to Asian Cucumber Salad or a bowl of Fresh Pico De Gallo.
  • It also complements simple salads like Tomato and Onion Salad or Butter Lettuce Salad with Lemon Chive Dressing for a refreshing, easy-to-love meal.

FAQs

Can I use different fruits in this salad?

Yes. This recipe is very flexible. You can swap in seasonal fruits like pineapple, watermelon, peaches, or even pomegranate seeds depending on what you have on hand.

Can I make this fruit salad ahead of time?

You can prep the fruit and dressing in advance, but for best texture, mix them together within a couple of hours of serving.

How long does honey lime fruit salad keep?

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Keep in mind the texture of the fruit may soften, so it’s best enjoyed fresh.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup grapes, halved (red or green)
  • 2 kiwis, peeled and sliced
  • 1 mango, peeled and cubed
  • 1 orange, peeled and segmented (or use mandarin slices)
  • ¼ cup mint leaves, finely chopped

For the Honey Lime Dressing:

  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, fresh lime juice, and lime zest until smooth and well combined.
  • Wash, peel, and slice all of the fruit as needed, then finely chop the mint leaves.
  • Place the prepared fruit and mint in a large mixing bowl.
  • Pour the honey-lime dressing over the fruit and gently toss until everything is evenly coated.
  • Serve immediately, or refrigerate for up to 2 hours before serving. If adding banana, slice and add it just before serving to keep it fresh.

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm fruit so the salad holds its shape and doesn’t get mushy.
  • Chill the fruit before mixing to keep the salad cool and refreshing.
  • Zest the lime before juicing it to make the process easier and avoid waste.
  • Whisk the dressing until smooth so the honey blends evenly with the lime juice.
  • Toss the salad gently to keep delicate fruits like berries from breaking apart.
  • Add bananas or apples just before serving to prevent browning.
  • For extra flavor, let the salad sit in the fridge for 15–20 minutes before serving to let the dressing soak in.
  • Swap honey for maple syrup or agave if you prefer a vegan option.
  • Sprinkle fresh mint or basil on top right before serving for a bright finish.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days and stir gently before serving again.
